Autumn in the Jura

The Franche-Comté (Jura) is a delightful, relatively unexplored region of France which we discover on this tour. The gracious hospitality of the region is epitomised in the charming, family-run lakeside hotel at Malbuisson which offers a truly warm welcome to the Francophile. Renowned for a fine table and attention to detail, this hotel offers every comfort with the personal touch.

As we radiate from our base we explore the art, countryside, scenery and skills of the people in this special region of France. Here we find furniture and Jura clock-making, wood-carving, cheese and wine production, a wealth of fine products whose quality has stood the test of time.

We explore the enchanting countryside with its renowned waterfalls and amphitheatres of soaring cliffs. We visit Arbois where the young Louis Pasteur developed the enquiring mind which revolutionised medicine. Picturesque Ornans on the river Loue invites us to savour the ambiance of the birthplace of the painter Gustave Courbet and we take a boat trip to see the Saut de Doubs waterfall.

The Jura will delight, enchant and offer lasting memories.
